The following official competitions are designed and supported by the FRCA - Florida Road Cycling Association in cooperation with the USCF - United States Cycling Federation.

The FPS - Florida Points Series is Florida's Road Racing Ranking System, and it is based on the Points earned and accumulated at each FPS-Approved-Event during the season. Each FPS event will be scored 25 places deep. The FPS will award its winners at the end of the season with a purse of over $10,000 divided among all senior categories.

The Florida Cup showcases the premier events in the state of Florida that meet specific requirements of quality, recognition, and status. Each Florida-Cup-Approved-Event will award its winners with recognition and prestige. Each Florida Cup event will be scored 35 places deep, and all points earned will also count towards the FPS overall ranking.

The Florida State Championships are one day events where riders put it all in the line to win the coveted State Champion distinction and conmemorative Jersey. Each State Championship event will be scored 35 places deep, and all points earned will also count towards the FPS overall ranking. The following are the approved four disciplines of competition for 2006:


Criterium - May 19, Lakeland
Road Race - June14-15, Ocala
Time Trial - June 1, West Palm
Team Time Trial - Aug 23, Olustee

The Florida Time Trial Series rewards riders for racing against the clock and for earning points on each approved Time Trial event. The following are the currently approved events for 2007, and more may be added as promoters help grow the TT discipline:

Mar - Tampa, Squiggy Classic TT
