Mention "Race for Humanity"
Another successful Race for Humanity benefiting the East Pasco Habitat for Humanity and Catholic Charities is in the books!
As has happened every year, the racers showed in force for what has turned out to be the biggest road race of the season. San Antonio's 17-mile hilly loop presents challenges in itself, through a series of numerous power climbs that test the early season fitness of all 437 entrants. That, along with winds that increased as the sun shone brighter, brought out the best in all riders and produced deserving winners throughout the categories. One of the biggest highlights of the day was Florida's newest phenom, Thomas Gibbons, leaving the pro race with 5 miles to go and out-riding what was left of the peloton (~ 60 riders!).
Then on a beautiful, bright Sunday, the long standing Dade City criterium, with its famous bricks and technical nature was again a highlight in the logbooks of racers who love the tight corners and fierce competitive nature of a 6-corner playground. And with the cream rising to the top in almost every event, Dade City definitely brought out everyone's best.
We at TopView Sports would like to thank everyone who attended, raced and/or supported this great Florida tradition and look forward to bringing you another Race for Humanity weekend in 2014!

The Race for Humanity enters its 14th edition. The rolling hills north of San Antonio host the first and maybe hardest road race of each season.
Much like Nascar, the Florida race scene enjoys its biggest race weekend at the beginning of the season. The San Antonio Road Race has been the largest attended race for 5 years in row with average participation over 400 riders. Combine that with one of the remaining classic style crit courses in Downtown Dade City, which in 2013 will host its 13th edition and you have a Super Cycling weekend.
New for 2013 is the NEW CAT 5 pricing. We want to lower the barriers to new racers so we will be reducing the entry fee to only $25 and waiving the $10 chip rental fees for all FIRST TIME RACERS. If you are in our database then you have raced before, but for true first timers it will offer you the chance to try racing at a much cheaper rate of only $25 in total.
